Critical Mass...
I'm not dead. Nor am I dying in anyway. I went to the ER a few hours ago and I guess I have the flu. They said something about meningitis, but I was kinda out of it while the doctor was talking. When I got to the ER, my fever was at 101.5. It was much worse earlier this morning. I literally slept all day. Craziness! I'm happy to report I'm at a somewhat healthy 98 degrees, my headache and nausea is almost gone, and I get the next few days off from work.
So, last night was cool. I went to the city with the guys and we ended up right in the middle of Critical Mass. On the last friday of every month, a bunch of cyclists get together at 6pm and start riding their bikes. There's no real reason for them to do this. They aren't protesting anything. They're just riding their bikes. It had to have been close to 2,000 cyclists. Most of them in Halloween costumes. I forgot to change my ISO setting on my camera from earlier in the day. Most of the Crititcal Mass shots came out grainy, but who cares. I'm just glad I caught the event at all.
Here's a video I found on Youtube to give you an idea of how massive the whole thing really was.

Teran was doing back flips. He's really good at doing back flips.
It's FUCKING Green Man!

Good that you're feeling better! And I've never seen so many of them in the city at once. Must've been pretty cool to see. I like the pics, as usual. :) I laughed at the bridge inspector guy.
That seems like a good way to spend Halloween. That would have been fun too--all dressed up and cycling. The pictures turned out great!
Great to hear you almost back to your old self again. Hope those Halloween candies are nursing you to health.
@Girl_Without_Pity - I think I might join in on the next Critical Mass ride. For sure I'm gonna join in next Halloween. All I need is a bike. Haven't had one in a long time.
@Lithium98 - Well you have a year to find one as well as come up with a costume. They should have one for Christmas. All cyclists dressed up like Saint Nick...now that's something to be caught on camera.
dude that is so sick. i wish i had my bike in sf.
"critical ass"
Green Man is unquestionably male. Wow.
Sounds like a fun day! Glad you're feeling better.
I think about doing Critical Mass too. At least part of my commute is via bike, so I have a vested interest in clogging up the streets and reminding cars cyclists exist.
